Waterperry’s Orchard Manager fears yields of this year’s apple and pear crops will be much lower than normal.

There’s no doubting it’s been a difficult start to the year.

Arctic winter winds and the cold north easterlies blew throughout the spring so it’s hardly surprising our rose garden is only just reaching its full potential.

My favourite part of the garden is where the shrub roses grow.

Readers of Gardeners’ World Magazine have voted Waterperry their favourite garden in the South East. They also voted the Pear Tree Teashop top in the Best Afternoon Tea category for the region – a new category for 2010.

It follows an online survey by the magazine earlier this year, when readers were asked to pick their favourite gardens from all those involved in the Gardeners’ World 2-for-1 entry scheme.
